OUR VALUES:

The following six values help to guide and direct HOW the mission is accomplished. We value ministry that is:

Child-targeted: We must never forget our target audience: KIDS!  We must look at everything we do through a child’s eyes to create a ministry that reaches, teaches, and loves that child.

Relevant & Application-Oriented:  Every lesson, example and activity must be relevant to kids in their lives now.  We want children to leave church saying “Wow, the Bible sure is a smart book!  It shows me what I should do in life to please God.”  We desire every child to see that God’s Word is written for them and know that it can be applied to their day-to-day life situations.

Teach the Bible Creatively: In order to keep pace with various learning styles of children today, we need to vary how we communicate our lessons each week.  We have the most incredible message to tell about the AWESOME God of the universe, so we can’t allow our ministry to children to be boring!  We must teach the Bible creatively.

Intentional Shepherding:  Children want to be known and loved.  They want to see how to live the Christian life through the examples set by those they love and respect.  Intentional shepherding means modeling Christ to a group of children.  Life change happens best in small groups.  We want kids to be known personally, loved and deeply cared for so that they can grow in their faith.

Safe:  Safety and security are among a child’s highest needs.  Children cannot learn well in an environment where they are afraid or where they don’t feel safe emotionally, physically, and spiritually.  We need to assure parents and children alike that we have their best interests as our top priority at all times.  That’s why safety is a must.

Fun: Our goal is to have children come back week after week.  We are not in the entertainment business, but we do recognize that children and adults alike respond positively when fun, creativity, and humor are a part of ministry.  We have to remember to add the FUN!
